#MOBO NOMINATIONS PARTY 2011

"Spot the Star"
Location: Renaissance St Pancreas
Date: 31 Aug 2011

Yes its that time again! As our brief English "Summer" draws to a close and Autumn sets in, the number one Urban Award Show The MOBO's prepares to grace our TV screens again for the 16th year running! The all important Nominations were announced last Weds in the Chic Renaissance Hotel in the City Of London. It was a party filled with the hottest artists on the urban scene right now. Of Course I have the scoop from the front line and exclusive pics of the action!

Jessie J Nominated for 5 Awards
Jessie J was definitely the talk of the night with a massive 5 nominations under her belt closely followed by Adele who picked up 4, both in the "Best UK Act" category. Also receiving nominations in this category were Wretch 32, Katy B, Chase & Status, Tinie Tempah, N-Dubz, Example, Chipmunk, The Streets. Definitely happy for all those who received recognition representing the British scene, but would have been refreshing to see more acts from outside of London in this category for example my home town of Manchester where there is a massively productive Urban artist boom. Maybe Next year Manchester...in the meantime ill have to represent my city backstage, ill put a good word in lol.

Nominee, Marsha Ambrosius
One act I am excited to see nominated and is Miss Shiniqua UK prediction to be massive internationally in 2012 is Marsha Ambrosius who has been nominated for "Best R&B / Soul Act". I'm team Marsha all the way and see her début album "late nights, early mornings" racking up more awards than she can carry at next years strong of award shows. In my opinion she deserves all the success coming her way, such a beautiful person, voice and attitude I anticipate the day I have the opportunity to style her. My 2012 goal bloggettes so stay tuned how that one turns out.

C.E.O of D.D.E & Dappy of NDubz
Another young entrepreneuress C.E.O of D.D.E (Derika Does Events) dominated this Mobo's Party with her journalistic flair, speaking to the likes of Kelly Roland's Fashion Stylist, Tinchy Stryder and Davinche but to name a few. All to be major part of her up and coming venture a ground breaking Networking Event held next month at the Styish Avalon. Stay tuned for more details and how you can be a part of it, brushing shoulders with the leaders of the urban scene.
