New York Fashion Week Highlights

As Mercedes Benz Fashion Week moves to The Lincoln Centre New York City, the celebrity front row appearances move with it.

Day 1 not being any different or at all hesitant to dive straight in the deep end with the likes of R & B singer Ashanti being 1st through the door at the 10am BCBGMAXAZRIA show. Hair and make up very on trend getting a Miss Shiniqua UK thumbs up. Loving the use of animal print on her curvaceous womanly figure. Looking fresh faced and gorgeous.
In A mixture of wardrobe choices that personally am not too keen on were Figure skater Johnny Weir, singer Kat Deluna and actress Sheryl Lee Ralph. I think Johnny was told the show was at the ice rink he is so accustomed to and Sheryl in "cougar" fancy dress seems to have chosen comfort over style in knee length yesteryear leather boots. I would have preferred to see her in a loose fit, light weight, black number paired off with a sleek shoe boot and large clutch, hair up, natural matt make-up with a strong wine lip. Let it be known I am available for next Fashion Week if anyone happens to rub shoulders with Sheryl's peeps (wink, wink, nudge, nudge).
Front row at the Tadashi Shoji show saw the cluster of stilettos and handbags as the girls JoJo, Julia Jones, Carrie Preston and Virgina Williams all sat attentively together as Shoji unleashed his spring 2012 beauties. I have a feeling these ladies will be contacting their stylists to give their wardrobes a quick Tadisha Shoji revamp of which I think singer JoJo would most benefit from. It would be a lovely change to see her in one of these nude high split transparent numbers and I feel with her curves and long dark hair she would carry off very well.
